This is the ideal turbo for any VB WRX owner targeting 500-550 horsepower. This is an very well rounded compressor-turbine combo, it will come much closer to the full 660 than the g25 ever could.

Transmission-friendly powerband: Unlike the stock turbo's aggressive low-end torque spike, the G30-660 builds power progressively and carries it higher in the RPM range. This smoother power delivery is easier on the drivetrain while providing superior performance throughout most of the powerband.

Real-World Performance Data:

Isolated pulls (2.5k-7k rpm):

• 1st gear: 14-18psi
• 2nd gear: full boost at 4.5k rpm
• 3rd gear: full boost at 3.5k rpm

Consecutive pulls (where this turbo shines):

• 1st gear: 14-18 psi
• 2nd gear: full boost immediately on shift
• 3rd gear: full boost immediately on shift

The key advantage: Outstanding transient response. The G30-660 carries inertia exceptionally well between shifts, giving you immediate boost on every gear change. While initial spool takes a moment in isolation, once spooled, this turbo pulls hard through every gear all the way to stock redline or beyond (I run 7000 rpm).
