Ultimate Heat Wrap Bundle — Mat, Foil & Spot Welder

Everything needed to build proper heat shielding from nothing — the insulation, the skins, and the tool that joins them.

Most people buy the materials and then discover they have no clean way to close thin stainless. Zip ties sag, hose clamps crush the mat, and a torch anywhere near silica is a bad afternoon. A pulse spot welder puts heat exactly where the electrodes touch: the seam holds, the mat stays compressed, and the layers are secured together.

What's included

• 1/4" pure silica needle mat, 36" wide — the insulating core
• 0.1 mm 304 stainless foil, 23.6" wide — double the mat's area, so you get an inner and outer skin, plus approximately 15% for cutting
• 11.5 kW pulse spot welder with foot pedal and 100 power levels — the tool that makes the seam permanent

The three-layer build

Stainless skin, silica core, stainless skin. The foil reflects radiant heat and takes the abrasion; the mat helps reduce heat transfer. It is the same construction we use on our own headers and J-pipes.

Sizing

Pick the size by how much surface you need to cover. The foil quantity scales with the selected mat size and includes the stated cutting allowance. Measure your part first and allow for bends, seams and overlaps.

The welder is only available here

We do not sell the spot welder on its own. It comes as part of this bundle, because on its own it is a tool without a job.

Why we care about heat this much

Every GropeTuned turbo kit includes a custom calibration service, and calibration is where heat soak shows up first — pulled timing, slower intake-air-temperature recovery, and inconsistent pulls. Shielding the hot side helps limit heat transfer to nearby components and supports more consistent operating conditions.
