BRZ Intake Manifold Adapter Kit — 2022+ Subaru WRX VB
Convert the 2022+ Subaru WRX VB to a BRZ-style intake manifold layout while retaining the supporting hardware needed for a clean installation. This is a hand-made adapter kit for advanced DIY installers and professional shops.
What’s included
- Manifold-to-head adapters
- Throttle-body adapter
- MAP extension harness
- EGR adapter
- Port-injection plugs
- MAP plug
Which BRZ manifold to source
The manifold itself is not included — you supply it. Three versions work with this kit:
- Gen 1 plastic: the most budget-friendly option.
- Gen 1 aluminum: the best-looking, “sexiest” option.
- Gen 2 plastic: recommended for the best performance.
Performance reference
For context only, a third-party FA20DIT BRZ-manifold test reported approximately +26 hp / +18 lb-ft on 93 octane and +36 hp / +21 lb-ft on E85. Those figures are not a GropeTuned dyno result, do not represent a guarantee, and may not apply to the FA24F or your vehicle.
Before you buy: required parts and installation work
- A compatible BRZ manifold is required and is not included.
- A throttle-body wiring extension is required. You will need one Ballenger Motorsports Ford/Mazda 6 Way DBW Throttle Body Connector Extension (CONN-86195). Purchase separately; not included.
- A complete front-mount intercooler setup is required and is not included.
- The intercooler pipe run must be custom. It can typically be made with two correctly sized universal intercooler-pipe J-bends. No intercooler piping is included.
- Source injector gaskets for the port-injection plugs, WRX and BRZ throttle-body gaskets, WRX and BRZ manifold-to-head gaskets, and WRX and BRZ MAP-sensor gaskets.
- Adapt the factory PCV hose to the manifold.
- Carefully bend the HPFP outlet away from the manifold, or cut the manifold for proper clearance.
- Trim the plastic beneath the manifold to clear the EGR adapter.
- Trim the in-head dividers as needed for clearance and airflow; use the supplied reference photo as a guide.
- The BRZ MAP mounting hole can be drilled to accept the WRX MAP sensor using a 31/64-inch drill bit.
- Disassemble the OEM TGV assemblies from the WRX manifold. Remove the rod from the remaining TGV motor/gear housing—the piece shown at the bottom right of the supplied TGV photo—before leaving it in the engine bay.
- Leave the TGV assemblies electrically connected in the engine bay and use a proper calibration to disable them and prevent codes or drivability issues.
Advanced installation: verify fitment, clearances, sealing surfaces, and fastener torque before starting the car. Installation and tuning should be performed by someone experienced with Subaru FA24F systems. Check local emissions and road-use requirements.
Warranty
Because the kit is hand-made, kit components include a 3-year limited replacement-parts warranty against manufacturing defects. Warranty coverage does not include installation damage, incorrect modifications, or normal wear.
This kit is not finished without a calibration
The TGVs have to be disabled in software and the manifold changes the airflow model. Plan for a tune as part of the install, not after it:
- BRZ Manifold + 62mm Throttle Body + Tune Bundle — this kit, the 62mm throttle body and the full custom E-tune in one purchase, cheaper than buying them apart. This is the one most people want.
- Atlas E-Tune — remote calibration on its own.
- Teach-As-We-Go Tune — the same calibration, with me explaining every change so you can maintain it yourself.
Going further: the G25-660 and G30-660 turbo kits both include their calibration in the price.
